Magic DVD Burner (albalad). This software made for the purpose of archiving pictures from Photos server, and free space for new photos downloaded from Credits such as AP, EPA, Reuters, AFP, DN.
It first connects to the main Database server (0.7), to get the photoID for pictures that are not archived, thing it fetches them from the Photos server (210), to a local directory where the software was started. That directory is created on chosen drive, by calculating largest free space on the local drivers on the PC.
This software uses BinaryASPI library that provide to be more efficient than Nero API functions. Better writing on DVD's. As I tested DVDs burnt by nero and MagicDVDburner using ISO Buster. Result was, reading media burnt by MDB much faster than reading media burnt by Nero (we used MAXELL, because Princo, Dysan, always failed after 3.5G as they should accept 4.7 G).
First the software will test the free space on the DVD and according to that space it will fetch needed amount of files from the Photos Server.After the fetching complete the burn Button will be enabled to burn.
After burning "Prepare to Delete" Button will be enabled to update the database that these pictures ready to be deleted from Photos server(210), also updating that they are found on DVD # …. .
Then the last button "Delete from 210" will get enabled when the update mission finishes. Pressing this button will execute a perl script found on Photos server to delete the files.
